On hand to witness proceedings, and represent the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master, was Alan Foster the Provincial Grand Senior Warden in what was his first outing as a representative.

Amongst the other interested onlookers were Howard Emmett Grand Senior Deacon and special representative Stuart Brackstone. Acting provincial officers in the persons of Peter Hampson, Neil Brown and Dave Sear were also in attendance.

The work of Jim in installing Dave was carried out to the very high standard which has become his trademark. He can also look back on a year when he has proved an excellent ambassador for the order in general and Jubilee Mark Lodge in particular.

Following Dave’s installation the keystone jewel was once again presented and explained by Peter Thompson.

Stuart was called into action again to deliver the address to the new WM, Alan Jones undertook that to the wardens and Russ Greenhow that to the overseers. All can reflect on a job well done as can Alan Foster who orated the address to the brethren with great aplomb.

To mark the occasion Dave presented Alan with a cheque for £500 in favour of the West Lancashire Mark Charity.

Dave will have a busy year ahead as he runs his own company, Furness Windings, which specialises in the repair of electric motors. In addition he is active in various masonic orders and last month was installed as the first principal of Thurston Chapter No 2525.

During the evening lodge newly appointed lodge DC David E. Smith was presented with his patent of appointment following his promotion to the rank of Past Provincial Grand Junior Warden. David is a regular at the provincial meetings and normally plays a part in ensuring the smooth running of the day but this year other commitments had prevented his attendance.
Following the superb ceremonial work 50 members and guests enjoyed an excellent meal and the good craic you associate with this friendliest of degrees.
